I doubt this will become anything like a regular string but I'm really enjoying some "free thought" posting.
Y'know...kinda lighten up the place and, at least momentarily, take peoples' minds off of bunnygate or accusations of elitism coming from some of the most elite.
So,for those of you who need some prompting please see my previous diaries here and here or, for more food for thought you can go below the fold because I've been thinking ...
- ...about the "list." What list? The list that the GOP leaders used when they were looking for a potential candidate to run at the end of Clinton's second term. You know, the one that had criteria like:
- Gullible (to an extreme degree preferred)
- Malleable (to an extreme degree preferred)
- Anti-Oedipal (doesn't need to understand it -- or be able to pronounce it)
- If Item 3 not available will settle for a father complex (see also Items 1 and 2)
- Someone white American males would like to have a beer with
- Did not actively serve in any of the armed forces
- No foreign policy experience
- Personal economic failures (if not available on a State level will accept a failed business venture -- or two)
- ELITIST!!!
- ...about fitness. I've personally been heading to the gym 4-5 days each week for the last six/seven months (the membership was a gift to myself for my 39th birthday 'cause I want to look GREAT at 40!). I've gotten stronger but tying in the diet part is very difficult when you are making significant lifestyle changes. How many calories? How much fat? carbs? protein? How many meals per day? I'll take any advice you've got...think 5-7 pounds of fat to go...
- ...about Spring. Autumn will always be my favorite season but there is something so wonderful about the springtime. All our daffodils are up and the forsythia is bringing some sunshine yellow to compliment the backdrop of greening lawns. Daffodils will always be one of my favorite flowers...
Pressed for time so far this week (Little League getting up and running here in Central Ohio -- lots less free time) so just a short list today.
